Remembrance of Annamma Chacko Arpil

Pennamma Chedathy was a well known social worker who spent her life to serve the needy people. It's necessary to remember such people because the path they made were very important. After the holy Qurbana celebrated by our Vicar Rev. Fr. P. K. Kuriakose Pandarakunnel, there conducted a memorial speech by Smt. Mariamma K. Philip, retired teacher of M. D. Seminary H. S. S.. Teacher reminded us that Annamma Chedathy had been a perfect symbol of charity and an important person for Vadakkanmannoor Church and especially for the people of Areeparambu and Amayannoor during that time. Her birth as well as death happened in the same date. She collected rice (pidiyari) and other things including money to feed the orphans of Pothenpuram Pampady MGM Abhayabhavan. Her service in the community medical center (the building is still there near to our church) was also unforgettable for it was the only reachable medical service for poor, in those days. She inspired many people to walk through the path of God, many of the priests and nuns of our church were also among them. Her services for Marthamariyam Samajam were also important  in Church, District and Diocese level. Smt. Mariamma K. Philip, in her speech quoted the words of our Late Lamented Very Rev. M. E. Eapen Cor-Episcopa, it was as follows "Pennamma is the Angel of Vadakkanmannoor Pally."
